The festival, which last year attracted more than 12,000 – mostly British – visitors, is an innovative example both of public and private partnership, as well as offering its guests exposure to various aspects of Croatian tourism, from beaches to heritage, and the staging of the opening night in the world’s sixth largest Roman amphitheatre was a striking visual contrast of Croatia’s rich cultural heritage and the country’s increasingly trendy image as a beach and festival destination, and an exciting tourism fusion.
As well as the on-site readymade campsite that Outlook has to offer, festival goers are able to stay in one of the reasonably priced hotels and apartments in the city of Pula and surrounding villages.
A modern music festival in a 2000 year-old setting, a public private partnership which is clearly working, the potential to integrate Croatia’s growing festival reputation with its diverse tourism attractions is enticing indeed.
