Waterfalls Uvala Blaz, Rabac – Points of interest

According to the stories in that bay were five mills that stood in the level of the sea, which is quite rare, and there were several water sources that are out there today. Remindings of it are a few remnants of abandoned mill building. Water that emerged in this area was of exceptional quality, which leads to the fact that people came to pick her up from distant parts of Istria, like St.Lovreč. Empty barrels were loaded on bullock cart, they would be brought down to Trget then by boats were transhipped by sea to the Blaze. There the water was poured, then carefully it was brought back. Regarding the bay and a legend dating back to the crown of King Tomislav, which was supposedly in the 10th century hidden in a Blaze. The story is related to Belavići village, not far from the bay. Specifically, in the 13th century Venetian governor visited the places for collecting the tax, and it was usually hosted by protocol local village head. It was in this case Grgo Belavić, who after the completion of the administrative part, for the Venetian governor and his men prepared a rich dinner, with lots of wine. When dinner was gone, and the participants fell under the influence of wine, the host briefly sneaked out of the house, that would be returned shortly afterwards with a crown, scepter in hand, mantle and other regalia. Shortly he walked in front of the guests and disappeared again. The next morning, remembering vaguely about the event, the Venetian governor asked the host about the strange event, but Grgo Belavić very firmly said that nothing unusual had happened the previous night except fun. That is all attributed to the influence of wine, and it remains to be found if the crown of King Tomislav is still in Blaz bay. Today the bay is totally outside all life flows.
