Tar a Vabriga byly původně dvě osady, které dnes tvoří jednu obec, ozdělenou pouze silnicí z Puly do Trieste. Z historického hlediska se jedná o tři části jedné obce: Tar, Frata (předměstí Taru) a Vabriga. V minulosti tyto tři osady tvořily tři farnosti se třemi kostely: sv. Martina, sv. Mihovila a sv. Antonína.
