Muntić represents a small locality with rich history, situated 13 km on the southwest from Pula. In Muntić, there are no places for entertainment (you can find that in nearby towns Pula and Medulin) so it is ideal destination for a peaceful family vacation in nature.

The area was inhabited in prehistoric times (hill near Nesactium and Loborika) and during the Roman period . In the middle ages the area was called Rumianum, and it was mentioned in the sources of X century as part of the property that belonged to the Bishop of Pula. In Muntić there were found prehistoric pottery from the Bronze Ageand the Iron Age. Muntić was first mentioned in 1331. year. In 16th Muntić century was again renovated and inhabited by the residents from Kostanjice, when it was probably found the first parish. Today it is the parish church of St. Jerome and the sacristy, Gothic arches and the stone altar.
