National Park Krka

The National Park Krka is one of the most beautiful national parks in Croatia. The Krka National Park is located about 80km from the city of Split, in the country of Skradin, near the historic town of Sibenik.

The Krka National Park is the seventh national park in Croatia , established in 1985. The source of the Krka River is located a few kilometers outside the National Park. The park is known for its waterfalls , including:

– Bilušića buk waterfall which is the first waterfall

– The Coric buk waterfall lies down for a hydroelectric

– The waterfall Manojlovaĉki slapovi 60 meters high

– Roski slap waterfall near Lake Visovac . It is the most beautiful waterfall with many waterfalls separated by islets. There is also a number of mills.

– The waterfall of Scardona and Skradinski buk which represent a unique natural beauty in Croatia. From here the water of the river Krka reach the sea. Even there are a number of mills.

On the territory of the National Park Krka are numerous forts, ruins, built to defend against the Turks. Famous is the Visovac lake in the middle of which is a small island with a church and a museum.
