The city of Pag was formerly fortified and was fomous for the salt production. The main port was Košljun in the west of the island of Pag. Today Pag is yet known for the production of the salt but also for the production of wind energy. Pag is rich in cultural and historical monuments, including the Congregation Church of the Assumption, the Rector’s Palace, the Tower Skrivanat, the church of St. George, the church of St. Francis, the monastery of St. Margarita, the salt warehouse. Pag is surrounded by beautiful pebble beaches suitable for family holidays with children.
